After Ben Affleck dropped out as the director of The Batman, the caped crusaders first solo entry in the DC Extended Universe, fans were initially concerned until War of the Planet of the Apes director Matt Reeves signed on to helm the project. While the development of the Batman film continues, fans are currently enamored with director James Mangold’s film Logan, the final installment of the Wolverine series. Now, Mangold has expressed his support for Matt Reeves in a post on his official Twitter account.
The post was made in response to a fans question about whether or not Mangold would direct a film adaptation of The Dark Knight Returns, which much like Logan focuses on a older version of the lead hero.

In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X in a hide out on the Mexican border. But Logan’s attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young Mutant arrives, being pursued by dark forces.
Directed by James Mangold, Logan stars Hugh Jackman, Dafne Keen, Richard E. Grant, Boyd Holbrook, Doris Morgado, Stephen Merchant, Elizabeth Rodriguez and Patrick Stewart.
Logan is now playing in theaters!
‘Batman v Superman’: Robin & Aquaman Weapon Designs…
One of the coolest cameos in Batman v Superman was actually not by a character but a costume. Midway through Dawn of Justice, Bruce Wayne walks past a vandalized Robin suit and contemplates his actions thus far. The suit is positioned to hold Robin’s now iconic staff. Apparently, the look of this staff went through quite a few permutations. Thanks to concept artist Ed Natividad, we have a great look at a few of the unused designs that were developed for the movie.
While this isn’t exactly news, it appears that Jason Todd was more violent than most comic book fans would probably like. Most of the designs seem to make the staff more of a spear with multiple sharp edges.
Although we have seen Robin’s murderous staff before, Natividad revealed his designs for another important “staff” of the DC Universe. Aquaman’s trident (briefly seen in the film) also went through various iterations including one that looks suspiciously like a Halo sword.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice premiered one year ago, but there’s still plenty to uncover from concept art. Here’s the synopsis of the film if you tried to forget this movie existed:
Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.
