According to a new report from comicbook.com, Marvel Studios’ upcoming Disney Plus series Loki starring Tom Hiddleston is adding actor Owen Wilson to the cast in an undisclosed role.
ComicBook.com reports that Owen Wilson has been cast alongside Tom Hiddleston’s titular God of Mischief in a major role that remains a secret at this point in time. Owen Wilson will be joining actress Sophia Di Martino, who is suggested to portray female Loki in the upcoming series.
Owen Wilson is widely recognized for his regular collaborations with acclaimed writer/director Wes Anderson, appearing in his films Bottle Rocket, Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Life Aquatic of Steve Zissou, Fantastic Mr. Fox and the upcoming The French Dispatch among others. Owen Wilson is also known for voicing Lightning McQueen in Disney and Pixar’s Cars franchise and his roles in Wedding Crashers and Midnight in Paris (which he starred alongside Tom Hiddleston in) among others. Given his background in comedic projects, it would certainly be interesting to see both Owen Wilson and Tom Hiddleston interact within the MCU’s brand of humor.

Avengers star Tom Hiddleston stars in Loki, a series that is said to follow the God of Mischief as he travels through time and becomes embroiled in major historical events. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has confirmed Loki will tie into the film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Marvel Studios is developing several shows for Disney Plus, including The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, What If…?, Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, and She-Hulk. The Falcon and Winter Soldier is currently set to be the first Marvel Studios series to debut on Disney Plus.
Tom Hiddleston’s Loki is scheduled to debut on Disney Plus in early 2021.
