‘Loki’ Writer On If The TVA Is After Captain America & Richard E. Grant’s Role

Crazy things can happen in the TVA.

Loki Captain America Richard E Grant TVA

Loki head writer Michael Waldron teased if Captain America gets involved with the TVA and hinted at the role of Richard E Grant.

The first episode for Marvel Studios’ newest series Loki premiered earlier this week, revealing an exciting and unexplored area in the Marvel Cinematic Universe known as the Time Variance Authority (TVA). Given that the Loki that the show centers on is a certain Variant of the God of Mischief, the TVA are looking to restore him back to the proper timeline flow of events as seen from 2012’s The Avengers up to his fatal encounter with Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War.

Given the job that the TVA has involves apprehending variants and restoring them to the proper flow of time, some have speculated as to whether or not that means they will end up dealing with Captain America at some point, given that at the end of Avengers: Endgame, Steve Rogers ends up traveling back in time to pursue a life with Peggy Carter. Michael Waldron was in an interview with SUPES, in which he was asked about whether the TVA dealt with Captain America, to which he refused to answer:

“I don’t think I can answer that… I don’t think I can answer that. I think maybe…I think maybe just keep watching.”

Academy Award-nominee Richard E Grant is also part of the new series in an undisclosed role. Total Film asked Michael Waldron if Richard . Grant was potentially playing a variant of Loki, to which he replied:

“Nobody wants to hear me say who Richard E Grant’s playing. We’re lucky to have him in the show – if he’s in the show, I heard he might be. So I think everybody should just watch and find out. Like Loki himself, we really wanted the experience of watching the show to feel kind of unexpected and constantly shape-shifting.”

Do you think the remaining episodes of Loki will involve Captain America at some point? What kind of role do you think Richard E Grant is playing in the series? Sound off in the comments below.

Here is the synopsis for the series:

In Marvel Studios’ “Loki,” the mercurial villain Loki (Tom Hiddleston) resumes his role as the God of Mischief in a new series that takes place after the events of “Avengers: Endgame.”

Directed by Kate Herron, with Michael Waldron serving as head writer, the upcoming series stars Tom Hiddleston, Sophia Di Martino, Owen Wilson, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.

The first episode is now streaming on Disney Plus, with new episodes set to be released on Wednesdays. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the series and the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more exclusive video content.
