For those who aren’t in the loop, Marvel’s Luke Cage is just a little over a month away from hitting Netflix. Until then, the showrunner of the highly anticipated 13-part series, Cheo Hodari Coker, will be revealing new episodes titles each Friday via Twitter. Plus, every single one of these episodes is named after a Gang Starr song, so they don’t even reveal any spoilers.
Here are the titles of the first seven episodes:
1. Moment of Truth
2. Code of The Streets
3. Who’s Gonna Take The Weight?
4. Step In The Arena
5. Just To Get A Rep
6. Suckas Need Bodyguards
Since it’s Friday (at the time of this writing), it’s time for another episode title. This time around, however, Theo Rossi — who plays Shades in the series — has taken over Coker’s Twitter account to reveal the title of the eighth episode himself and it’s … Blowin’ Up The Spot, a track from Gang Starr’s 1994 album, Hard to Earn.
After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage becomes a fugitive who attempts to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But soon he is pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city – forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.
Starring Mike Colter, Mahershala Ali, Alfre Woodard, Simone Missick, Theo Rossi, Frank Whaley, Rosario Dawson, Sonia Braga and Erik LaRay Harvey, Marvel’s Luke Cage will be available to stream on Netflix starting September 30th. Are you guys excited?
