Lupita Nyong’o says Ryan Coogler has some “really exciting ideas” for Black Panther 2 as the series moves forward without Chadwick Boseman.
During Disney Investor Day back in December, Kevin Feige confirmed they will not be recasting T’Challa following the death of Chadwick Boseman. Ryan Coogler is currently hard at work developing the highly-anticipated sequel that could begin filming this summer. In addition to the sequel, Coogler is also working on a Wakanda spin-off series for Disney Plus.
In a recent Good Morning America appearance, Lupita Nyong’o opened up about the status of the upcoming Black Panther sequel and teased Ryan Coogler’s direction:
“It’s gonna be different, of course, without our king to go back into that world. But I know that all of us are dedicated to carrying on his legacy in this new Black Panther. And [director] Ryan Coogler has some really, really exciting ideas that I look forward to bringing to life with the rest of the family.”
