With production on Black Panther finally underway in Atlanta, Georgia, a few set photos have started to make their way out. Actress Lupita Nyong’o, who will be playing the character of Nakia in the movie, has decided to join in on the fun by releasing a photo of herself on the way to film one of her scenes.
Lupita Nyong’o shared this image through her Twitter page earlier today:

Given that the image itself is a selfie pointed away from Black Panther‘s set, it doesn’t tell us a lot about what they’re filming today. As for what Lupita Nyong’o is wearing, it’s most likely that her attire is meant to cover up her character’s costume as opposed to being what she actually wears in the movie. Alternately, it might be cold where they’re filming, as it does look like she’s hidden under a bunch of blankets. In any case, it certainly looks like she’s enjoying herself, so hopefully that enthusiasm will translate into a great performance.
Directed by Ryan Coogler and written by Coogler and Joe Robert Cole, Black Panther will be released on February 16, 2018. The movie’s cast includes Chadwick Boseman as T’Chaka/Black Panther, Michael B. Jordan as Erik Killmonger, Forest Whitaker as Zuri, Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, Angela Basset as Ramonda, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Daniel Kaluuya as W’Kabi, Winston Duke as M’Baku/Man-Ape, Florence Kasumba as Ayo, Sterling K. Brown as N’Jobu, Andy Serkis as Ulysses Klaue, Martin Freeman as Everett K. Ross, John Kani as T’Chaka, and Atandwa Kani in an unspecified role. While an official press release about the movie’s plot is not available at this time, the film will revolve around its title character teaming up with the CIA and the Dora Milaje to stop a pair of threats that could put the nation of Wakanda in peril.
