Lynda Carter Influenced By Hillary Clinton On ‘Supergirl’ Presidential Role

Supergirl

With ‘Supergirl‘ about to debut on The CW, it’s no surprise that it’s cast are slowly revealing more and more information about the upcoming season. One such actor is the legendary Lynda Carter. She’ll be taking a role as the President of the United States in Season Two. When asked about the role, she told interviewers that she based the role off of female Presidency candidate, Hillary Clinton.

“I used Hillary to prepare. I saw the way she can be warm and funny and inviting and serious. Hillary is much more human than Wonder Woman. She has flaws, but we are all flawed and we learn from our mistakes.”

Whilst Clinton isn’t quite, Carter thinks that she’s just as much of a role model to young women. ‘Supergirl‘ Season Two is boasting an impressive cast list, with Lynda Carter being the most notable. She’ll appear throughout Season Two in a reoccurring role as the President of the United States. Whilst we’re not sure how much we’ll be seeing of the Wonder Woman actress, it’s clear that she’ll appear several times.

Carter is one of the most recent additions to the cast alongside Melissa Benoist, David Harewood, Jeremy Jordan, Chyler Leigh, and Mechad Brooks. Other newcomers to the show include Tyler Hoechlin as Superman. Katie McGrath as Lena Luthor, Ian Gomez as Snapper Carr, Floriana Lima as Captain Maggie Sawyer and Chris Wood as Mon-El.

In Season Two, Kara has left the safety of being Cat Grant’s assistant in order to figure out what she really wants to do, while as Supergirl she continues to work at the DEO., protecting the citizens of National City and searching for Jeremiah and Cadmus. Along the way, she will team up with Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) to battle new villains, as she strives to balance her personal life with her life as a superhero.
