Maggie Sawyer To Be An Ally On ‘Supergirl’

We’ve known that comics favourite Maggie Sawyer would be joining the second season of Supergirl for a while now, but we’ve not known what her relationship with our titular hero will be like until now. According to showrunner Andrew Kresiberg, Sawyer will be “an ally”.

Sawyer will be a detective with the Science Police, the division of NCPD dealing with anything out of the ordinary, and will apparently be “a strong proponent for alien rights, which is going to be [a theme]”. According to Kresiberg “we’ll be bumping into Maggie a lot, and questions of jurisdiction will be coming up,”.

Are you happy to see Maggie Sawyer getting on well with Supergirl and co, or would you rather see a more antagonistic relationship? Sound off in the comments section.

In Season Two, Kara has left the safety of being Cat Grant’s assistant in order to figure out what she really wants to do, while as Supergirl she continues to work at the DEO., protecting the citizens of National City and searching for Jeremiah and Cadmus. Along the way, she will team up with Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) to battle new villains, as she strives to balance her personal life with her life as a superhero.

Supergirl makes it debut on the CW with the Season 2 premier on Monday October 10th.
