Is Man-Thing James Gunn’s Final ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ Easter Egg?

Guardians of the Galaxy James Gunn

A comic book blog may have discovered James Gunn’s almost legendary missing Easter Egg in Guardians of the Galaxy. Could it be?

Can you believe its been 5 years already since James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy debuted and we’re still missing that one Easter Egg? Well, it seems that a comic book blog may be onto something. Giant Box of Comics recently posted that Man-Thing may be the last of James Gunn’s Easter Eggs in Guardians of the Galaxy!

Their theory comes by carefully examining the post-credit scene where Taneleer Tivan and Howard The Duck are sitting among the rubble of The Collector’s lair. In a further close-up of the scene, there’s a creature locked up in one of The Collector’s displays and, according to the blog, it’s none other than Man-Thing himself.

We still have no confirmation from James Gunn if this is indeed the last Easter Egg he always says no one has been able to find yet, but it sure looks like it could be. Fans have been ravenously hunting this Easter Egg for quite some time now, pitching their findings to James Gunn, but the director’s been quick to shoot every single one of them down.

Actors from the Guardians franchise like Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, and Dave Bautista have expressed their joy for having James Gunn back in the director’s seat for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 again. James Gunn started his particular adventure with the Guardians of the Galaxy back in 2014 and turned a virtually unknown team into a mega-franchise for Marvel. After Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, James Gunn was ready to helm the third installment when Disney sacked him for some inappropriate tweets from years ago. Disney reversed this decision some weeks ago when they gave James Gunn his job back.

Nevertheless, James Gunn will have to finish The Suicide Squad for DC first before tackling the Guardians’ third installment. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is rumored to start production sometime in 2020 and debut in 2021.

Marvel recently announced that there will be eight new films between 2020 and 2022. One of them will surely be James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 but we will only know the official date after Spider-Man: Far From Home debuts in July and closes MCU Phase 3.
