Margot Robbie has stated that fans will be laughing a lot when they go watch The Suicide Squad in 2021.

In a recent interview with Variety to promote her upcoming film Bombshell, Margot Robbie discussed her upcoming appearances as Harley Quinn in The Suicide Squad and Birds of Prey. First discussing The Suicide Squad, it was brought up how her co-star Joel Kinnaman stated that The Suicide Squad would be a funny film. Margot Robbie doubled down on these comments by suggesting that fans would be cracking up when they see The Suicide Squad.

“He’s right… You’re going to be laughing a lot. It’s going to be good is all I can say for now. It’s going to be very, very good.”

This vote of confidence for The Suicide Squad is fantastic considering 2016’s Suicide Squad was maligned by critics for its weak script, though Margot Robbie’s performance was singled-out as a saving grace. Margot Robbie continued by discussing how Birds of Prey will offer fans a different look at Harley Quinn than they’ll be used to in The Suicide Squad.

“The story in ‘Birds of Prey’ is told from her point of view, so you have an insight into Harley’s world in a way that you didn’t in the first ‘Suicide Squad’ film, nor that you’ll have in the next ‘Suicide Squad’ film. It’s a little bonkers. It reflects her personality. It’s heightened. It’s poppy, it’s fun, it’s violent, it’s crazy. It’s absurd. It’s kooky. It’s hilarious. It’s a little heartbreaking.”

Margot Robbie seems to be quite excited for fans to see her in The Suicide Squad and Birds of Prey.  In a day and age where most actors either do superhero movies or don’t, it’s great to see Margot Robbie intersect between films like The Suicide Squad and Bombshell, which is based on a true story.
