Last year, it was announced that Margot Robbie would produce and star in David Ayer’s Gotham City Sirens. The decision was a long time coming, but the appointment of Ayer was one that rocked the comic book movie world. Many were shocked with Ayer’s Suicide Squad, as the movie was… pretty terrible, so the re-appointment came as a surprise. However, Warner Bros were obviously happy with the film’s box office haul (over $750 million worldwide). One of the movie’s best components was Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn. The Australian actress wowed audiences in her multi-coloured hair as the Joker’s madly-in-love girlfriend. Robbie is a huge fan of the character, and is more than thrilled to work on the follow-up to the 2016 hit.

The photo, which was taken on November 15, features the recently married Robbie at LAX reading a Harley Quinn comic book. Thanks to ArkOrb, we now know that Robbie was flicking through the pages of Harley Quinn Vol 3. Kiss Kiss Bang Stab; which collects Harley Quinn (2013) #14-16, ANNUAL #1, Harley Quinn: Holiday Special (2014), and Harley Quinn: Valentine’s Day Special (2015). The actress was specifically reading the Valentine’s Day Special, which features a story detailing Harley’s dream date with Batman himself, Bruce Wayne. Could this be included in the upcoming film? I wouldn’t bet my life on it. However, Robbie is the producer of the project, so she may be looking at some inspiration for the screenplay to be written by Geneva Robertson-Dworet.

So, what do you guys think? Could we see any of this in the upcoming Gotham City Sirens flick? I have no idea. The film is currently in development, with Robbie producing and Ayer directing. Are you excited for the upcoming flick?

Gotham City Sirens has no scheduled release date.

Before the vitriol flows it has been confirmed that it was “Executive Producer” Margot Robbie who wanted Ayer to helm her Harley led project. Regardless of what fandom/detractors think her choice and voice is the one of paramount importance.
