Margot Robbie is serious about the upcoming Tank Girl reboot as the film has found its director in Miles Joris-Peyrafitte.
According to a report from Collider, Margot Robbie’s Tank Girl has tapped Miles Joris Peyrafitter to direct the upcoming film. The two had previously worked together on the film, Dreamland which Margot Robbie also co-produced. The current plan is reportedly for her to star in the Tank Girl reboot as well as produce it. However, Margot Robbie will reportedly not fully commit to the part until she has read a script.
It was revealed yesterday by Tank Girl co-creator Alan Martin that Margot Robbie’s production company, LuckyChap Entertainment, had optioned the rights for the comic series. The Tank Girl series follows the titular character on her misadventures through a post-apocalyptic Australia. The series is known for its unique, punk rock art style.
Tank Girl was, of course, adapted for the big screen once before. The film was released in 1995 and starred Lori Petty, Ice-T, and a then-unknown Naomi Watts. It was sadly a critical and box office disappointment and was one several comic book adaptation to fail at the box office over the decade. But now it seems, Margot Robbie and her fellow producers want to take another stab at the property.
