On social media, Mark Hamill teased Luke returning as a Force Ghost in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
During the climactic finale of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Kylo Ren suspended his pursuit of the Resistance to confront his uncle and former mentor Luke Skywalker, who unexpectedly arrived on the planet Crait to assist our heroes. While it was eventually revealed that Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker Force projected himself onto Crait while actually remaining on Ahch-To, his plan to create a diversion to help the Resistance escape ultimately cost him his life.
Of course, most suspected Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker would return as a Force Ghost after the cast list for The Rise of Skywalker included the Star Wars legend and now the actor himself continues to fuel the speculation on social media. In a post on his official Twitter account, Mark Hamill shared the official poster for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and included the hashtag “#LukeTheSpook” while also noting that this will be his final outing as the Jedi Knight.
