WARNING: The following article explores certain plot elements of Avengers: Infinity War that Mark Ruffalo let slip a few months back. While this will not explicitly refer to the fates of certain characters, reader discretion is advised.
No stranger to spoiling his Marvel Cinematic Universe films early, it turns out that Bruce Banner/Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo managed to give spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War about nine months before it hit theaters.
Ruffalo made an appearance at the 2017 D23 Expo to promote his upcoming work in Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Infinity War. During an interview on Good Morning America alongside fellow Avenger Don Cheadle, Ruffalo let slip a few details regarding the fate of certain characters in the latter:
“Let me just say this; Like every other Marvel movie, it doesn’t end well for the superheroes. Wait until you see this next one. Everybody dies.”
Cheadle was visibly concerned that Ruffalo’s tease at the fate of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes was a bit to revealing, to which Ruffalo responded:
“Not everybody – no. Is that – can we rewind that part? Am I in trouble? Is Barry going to be mad at me?
Being the experts that they are, Ruffalo and Cheadle managed to play off that situation in a humorous light – but Ruffalo’s comments regarding character deaths isn’t too far off from what happens in the film. Given the lengths that Thanos goes throughout this story, we see certain heroes reach heartbreaking ends. For those wanting to delve into these deaths, check out the gallery at the bottom of this article.
Between Ruffalo live-streaming the first 20 minutes of Thor: Ragnarok on his phone and now this, Marvel Studios needs to give the Avengers actor a very important talk to make sure this doesn’t happen again. After all, Thanos demands his silence…
