Harry Lennix recently revealed that he wants to shoot his cut Martian Manhunter scenes for Zack Snyder’s Justice League cut.
Zack Snyder’s cut of Justice League was originally brimming with countless setups and plot threads that would have drastically changed the course of the DC Extended Universe. However, Snyder’s version of the film was never released, relegating his cut to mere myth status, with fans advocating its release at every front. The director himself has appreciated fan efforts and has shared countless pieces of concept art and behind-the-scenes photos that would have have been apart of his Justice League cut.
One of the most prominent details Zack Snyder shared was revealing that Harry Lennix’s General Swanwick would actually be revealed as Martian Manhunter in the final few moments of Justice League. Lennix’s General Swanwick previously appered in Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Lennix’s scene-stealing moment would have come at the end of Justice League, after a meeting ended with Martha Kent and Lois Lane.
While audiences may have never gotten to see Harry Lennix’s Martian Manhunter on the big screen, the actor isn’t opposed to shooting his scenes for the Zack Snyder’s cut of Justice League. In a recent interview with Comic Book Central, the actor was asked if he’d be interested in filming his Martian Manhunter scenes, to which he replied with an enthusiastic yes.
“I would love to do that.”
Harry Lennix is also completely aware of the fan movement to bring Zack Snyder’s cut of Justice League to the masses and is hoping that fans get the opportunity to see it.
“I hope that it will be seen. I really do.”
The Man of Steel actor continued to discuss his role in Justice League, revealing that it was actually cut before filming even started due to a rewrite. That being said, Lennix remained confident that he would have filmed his Martian Manhunter scenes.
