‘Marvel’s Avengers’ Game Confirmed To Have Microtransactions

Marvel Avengers Square Enix E3

Crystal Dynamics’ upcoming game Marvel’s Avengers revealed a trailer at E3 and the developers just confirmed that the game will indeed have microtransactions.

At E3 2019, it was stated that there would be no loot boxes or pay to win tactics with the game, however, IGN recently spoke with game’s developers at E3 and they confirmed that the game will include microtransactions. Shaun Escayg, lead creative director at Crystal Dynamics, spoke about it with IGN:

“There will be custom outfits that you can purchase in microtransactions.”

Vincent Napoli, lead combat designer, chimed in as well adding:

“There are other aesthetic ways to customize your player card and your player experience, but there is nothing that affects the gameplay.”

While it sounds like these the microtransactions are only there for aesthetic additions, it’s unclear how much the microtransactions will change your character. Since pay to win and loot boxes were said to not be introduced, it’s possible that there won’t be any type of buffers or more powerful weapons purchased in a microtransaction situation.

Crystal Dynamics revealed a full look at Marvel’s Avengers at E3 2019. In the trailer, it’s revealed that in this timeline a catastrophic event takes the life of Captain America and the Avengers disband. Years later, they reunite to save the world from peril.
