Marvel’s ‘Avengers’ Gameplay Shows Off The Game’s Combat

At last, we have our first look at the gameplay footage from the upcoming video game, Marvel’s Avengers from Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix which shows off the game’s combat.

The gameplay footage of Marvel’s Avengers was first seen at this years E3. However, that footage was only available to those who were at the conference until now. In a video on Marvel’s Avengers official YouTube channel, Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix gave us our first look at the game’s combat. In it, all the Avengers participating in the combat in some way.

The video is just under nineteen minutes long but shows off each of the heroes gameplay styles in Marvel’s Avengers. Thor will seemingly play like a traditional hack and slash character with combos and different abilities available. It then switches to Iron Man who at first plays like a rail shooter that then shifts to a third-person shooter with some beat ’em up aspects. Both Hulk and Captain America are straight up beat em’ ups with differences in abilities and power. Finally, Black Widow seems to also play as a beat ’em up with some third-person shooter aspects before the video ends with Captain America’s apparent death.

Here is a plot synopsis for Marvel’s Avengers from Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix :

“Marvel’s Avengers begins at A-Day, where Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor are unveiling a hi-tech Avengers Headquarters in San Francisco — including the reveal of their own helicarrier powered by an experimental energy source. The celebration turns deadly when a catastrophic accident results in massive devastation. Blamed for the tragedy, the Avengers disband. Five years later, with all Super Heroes outlawed and the world in peril, the only hope is to reassemble Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.”

Marvel’s Avengers is currently set to be released on May 15th of 2020.
