Scarlett Johansson’s upcoming Marvel film, Black Widow, will feature thirty minutes of IMAX expanded ratio footage.

Marvel’s Black Widow has sadly had a long and bumpy road. Scarlett Johannson’s solo film was one that had been demanded by fans for some time but had a difficult time being made for a number of reasons.  Now the film has encountered yet another obstacle in the form of the coronavirus which delayed the film by several months. When the film finally does come out, however, will contain a lot of IMAX footage.

According to the IMAX earnings call, roughly thirty minutes of Scarlett Johannson’s upcoming Black Widow film will be shown in IMAX’s expanded 1.90:1 aspect ratio. For a bit of content, an IMAX image gives you roughly 26% more footage in the picture than a regular theater screen. Sadly the call did not give us any clues as to what we would be seeing in the IMAX aspect ratio.

What do you all make of this latest development on Scarlett Johannson’s upcoming film? Are you happy to hear that so much of Marvel’s Black Widow will be in the IMAX aspect ratio? Let us know what you think in the comments below!

Here is the official synopsis for the upcoming Marvel film:

Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger.

Directed by Cate Shortland from a script written by Eric Pearson based on a story by Jac Schaeffer and Ned Benson, the film stars Scarlett Johansson, David Harbour, Florence Pugh, O-T Fagbenle, Ray Winstone, Olivier Richters, and Rachel Weisz.
