Marvel Concept Artist Shares ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy: Vol. 2’ Art

guardians-concept-artWith Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 now available to own on home media, Marvel Studios Visual Development Supervisor and Concept Artist Andy Park took the time to share an early piece of art from the sequel on Twitter.

This piece shows a tender moment from the climax of the film, as Yondu saves Peter Quill from the destruction of Ego, his father and the planet he is a part of. Quill and Yondu share a powerful scene together as the two realize they, in fact, were more like a father and a son to each other than their actual families.

Check out the art in the tweet below:

Written and directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Glenn Close, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, and Kurt Russell.  Here’s the official synopsis:

Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.

5 Reasons ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2’ Is Better Than The Original

Previous1 of 6

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2When Guardians of the Galaxy hit cinemas in 2014 it surprised everyone. Offering a unique blend of whiz-bang intergalactic excitement, a groovy out-of-this-world soundtrack, a smörgåsbord of oddball characters, and wacky rib-clutching comedy, Guardians had it all. It was definitely the Marvel movie to beat… until Vol. 2 came out.

Offering the same blend of winning ingredients, but amping up the story, the characters, and the emotional resonance, Guardians Vol. 2 accomplishes the rare sequel feat of being even better than the original. A lot of people will disagree with me, but I believe the first film, while excellent, had certain storytelling flaws, which the sequel was able to remarkably overcome. The result is a brand-spanking new adventure for Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket and Groot, that improves upon the original in several ways.

Here are the five reasons why Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is better than the original. Click next to blast off! Please note that SPOILERS for  Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will follow!
