Avengers Endgame Marvel Studios MCU Captain Marvel

It seems that nothing can stop Marvel films as a new chart show that the films based on the comic company’s properties now dominates the top 100 earning films of all time with its properties accounting for almost a fourth of the list.

The list in question comes to us from a Reddit post that assembled the highest grossing franchises into a chart. While the actual numbers on this can be debated given inflation and whatnot, the numbers seem fairly close if not dead on. A quick look over at Box Office Mojo will show that at least 20 of the top 100 highest grossing films of all time are Marvel based properties. While not all of these are Marvel Studios films, they none the less dominate a big part of the list.

You can see this chart below:

Marvel has 21.5% of the top 100 movies of all time box office (MCU has 15.31% of that) from marvelstudios

From the look of things, Marvel is a force that cannot be stopped!

What do you all make of this chart? Do you find it unsettling that one franchise now holds so much power? How about the fact that Disney owns most of the highest grossing properties on this list? Let us know what you think in the comments below!

The latest Marvel film, Dark Phoenix is now playing in theaters everywhere. Written and directed by Simon Kinberg, the film stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Evan Peters, and Jessica Chastain.

This is the story of one of the X-Men’s most beloved characters, Jean Grey, as she evolves into the iconic DARK PHOENIX. During a life-threatening rescue mission in space, Jean is hit by a cosmic force that transforms her into one of the most powerful mutants of all. Wrestling with this increasingly unstable power as well as her own personal demons, Jean spirals out of control, tearing the X-Men family apart and threatening to destroy the very fabric of our planet. The film is the most intense and emotional X-Men movie ever made. It is the culmination of 20 years of X-Men movies, as the family of mutants that we’ve come to know and love must face their most devastating enemy yet — one of their own.
