Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 James Gunn Marvel Studios

Marvel Cinematic Universe fans in the United Kingdom and Ireland have something to celebrate, as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is now coming to the two territories two days earlier than previously scheduled. Originally set for release on May 5, 2023, MCU fans can now catch the latest adventures of Star-Lord, Drax, Rocket, Groot and the rest of the Guardians on May 3th.

The news was shared by Twitter user Tom Linay, a well-known source for movie release dates and calendar updates. “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 now opens two days earlier in the UK & Ireland, on Wednesday, May 3,” Linay wrote on his Twitter page, causing a buzz among Marvel Cinematic Universe followers.

With the earlier release date comes the increased risk of encountering spoilers. Fans will need to be cautious when browsing social media, reading articles or engaging in conversations with other fans about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Even the slightest spoiler could ruin the excitement and surprise of watching the long-awaited Marvel Studios movie for the first time.

What to expect from the third Guadians movie

One confirmed aspect of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is the return of James Gunn as writer and director. Gunn was originally set to direct the film after the success of the first two Guardians flicks, but was temporarily removed from the project due to controversial tweets that resurfaced from his past. However, after a public outcry from the Guardians cast and fans, Gunn was reinstated on the film. Vol. 3 is his last Marvel movie due to his commitments to DC Studios.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 synopsis reads as follows: “Our beloved band of misfits are settling into life on Knowhere, but it isn’t long before their lives are upended by the echoes of Rocket’s turbulent past. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him on a dangerous mission to save Rocket’s life – a mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.”

Written and directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Sean Gunn, Sylvester Stallone, Will Poulter, Chukwudi Iwuji and Maria Bakalova.
