We still have quite a wait until Scott Derrickson’s Doctor Strange hits theaters, but fans will be able to get their Marvel fix next month. We’re getting closer and closer to the release of Marvel’s Luke Cage, which will be available to stream on Netflix starting September 30, 2016. There’s no doubt that we’re going to see another trailer for Luke Cage before that, but for now, Netflix has released the first official clip from the series.
The clip is pretty much an extended version of the teaser trailer that was included in the credits of the season two finale of Marvel’s Daredevil. In it, we see Luke Cage (Mike Colter) taking on a number of bad guys in a boxing gym. It’s not much, but it’s definitely more than enough to keep us interested until the series hits the streaming service.
You can check out the clip below.
After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage becomes a fugitive who attempts to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But soon he is pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city – forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.
Marvel’s Luke Cage stars Mike Colter, Mahershala Ali, Alfre Woodard, Simone Missick, Theo Rossi, Frank Whaley, Rosario Dawson, Sonia Braga and Erik LaRay Harvey. The 13-part series will be available to stream on Netflix on September 30th, 2016.
