Canceled Marvel Netflix Series Reportedly Won’t Return On Disney Plus

Marvel Disney Netflix Daredevil Defenders Punisher

Apparently, the Disney Plus streaming service wants nothing to do with the Marvel Netflix series Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist.

The recent cancelation of three out of the five Marvel Netflix series came as a big blow to fans. Despite not earning impressive viewership numbers, the latest seasons of Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Daredevil seemed to earn luke warm to favorable reviews amongst fans. Despite the fanbase, a new report is claiming that Disney does not have any interest in bringing the canceled Marvel Netflix series to the Disney+ streaming platform.

It’s been very apparent since the premiere of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Daredevil that, although the series can reference the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the actual MCU wants nothing to do with those stories and characters. Rolling Stones TV critic Alan Sepinwall suggested via Twitter that the long talked about feud between the teams behind the Marvel movies and the teams behind the TV shows is very real.

A fan then commented on Sepinwall’s post that perfectly illustrated the divide between the Marvel movies and TV series. During the filming of Captain America: Civil War in 2015, Terrigen Fish Oils became an important part of the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. storyline. When the fan mentioned this on the set of Civil War, the response was quite interesting.

As mentioned in Sepinwall’s tweet, Disney could very well take the Marvel Netflix series characters and simply reboot them completely for either their movies or streaming service. Don’t worry though, if you miss the canceled  series, there are still hours of episodes to go back and sift through on Netflix. Fans can also continue to look forward to upcoming seasons of both The Punisher and Jessica Jones in the near future.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Disney and the Marvel Netflix series as soon as more information becomes available. Which of the series were you most disappointed to see get canceled? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
