Marvel has a few surprises in store for us for JJ Abrams upcoming Spider-Man series as a new trailer has teased at a new terrifying villain.
In the trailer for the upcoming Spider-Man mini-series, co-writer JJ Abrams talked about how the comic medium was new to him and how excited he was to be taking a shot at it. Marvel Executive Editor Nick Lowe continuously praised JJ Abrams and his son, Henry Abrams and what a thrill it was to work with the two of them. He then talked about the antagonist of the upcoming mini-series and how he is one of the most terrifying foes that Spider-Man has had to face. He further teased that, like other JJ Abrams projects, not everything is what it seems with this new character.

The project was announced several months ago in a marketing method that was somewhat controversial and downright confusing. Marvel originally posted an image of the number 4 that was made up of Spider-Man’s webbing leading to some to believe that Marvel was going to push Sam Ramie’s unmade fourth Spider-Man film into production or that some kind of crossover with the Fantastic Four was going to happen. As it turned it, it was just a countdown to when they were announcing JJ Abrams’ mini-series.
