A new rumor claims Marvel Studios Phase 4 plans will include a Nova film and a story arc involving Spider-Man villain Norman Osborn.
While Avengers: Endgame concluded the 22-film Infinity Saga, the third phase of Marvel Studios’ cinematic universe is set to officially conclude with the release of Spider-Man: Far From Home. However, Marvel Studios’ has yet to officially confirm what they have planned their upcoming slate of films, but a new leak from insider Roger Wardell may offer fans an idea of what the company has in store.
While the source may seem questionable, Roger Wardell previously posted Avengers: Endgame spoilers months ahead of the film’s theatrical debut that turned out to be accurate. Now, Wardell is claiming Marvel Studios’ line-up of Phase 4 films currently in development includes Black Widow, The Eternals, Black Panther 2, Shang-Chi, Doctor Strange 2, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
Furthermore, the leak claims Marvel Studios’ is planning sequels to Thor, Ant-Man and Captain Marvel while New Avengers, Young Avengers, and Dark Avengers films are also a possibility. As for the long-term plan moving forward, the leak alleges Marvel Studios plans to present “mini-arcs” as opposed to a decade-long saga with clear divides between the cosmic characters and earth-bound heroes. If the source is correct, the villain of the Earth-based arc will be Norman Osborn, a character from the Spider-Man comics who is rumored to make his MCU debut in Far From Home.
In the comics, Nova is a member of the intergalactic police force known as the Nova Corps who has cross passed with the Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain Marvel, and Thor. Norman Osborn, on the other hand, is best known as the alter-ego of Spider-Man’s arch-enemy, the Green Goblin.
