Marvel Studios Art Reveals Early Version Of ‘Iron Man 2’ Briefcase Suit

Marvel Studios Iron Man 2

New art from Marvel Studios artist Ryan Meinerding reveals an early version of the briefcase suit Tony wears in Iron Man 2.

Although Tony Stark wore a number of different suits in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, one of the early fan favorites arrived in the divisive Iron Man 2. When Mickey Rourke’s Whiplash attacks Tony at the Monaco Grand Prix, he quickly straps on a portable version of his usual suit which is disguised as a briefcase when not in use. But the suit nearly looked quite different, as Marvel Studios Head of Visual Development Ryan Meinerding recently revealed on Instagram.

The artist posted the early design of the Iron Man 2 briefcase suit on his Instagram, explaining that although it wasn’t used in the second film, it would later be modified and repurposed for Iron Man 3. Meinerding points out that this version wound up becoming the ‘Bones’ suit that Tony used as part of his ‘House Party’ protocol at the end of the film. Take a look at the Marvel Studios art below.
