Marvel Studios’ ‘Eternals’ Reportedly Adds ‘Dunkirk’ Star Barry Keoghan

Marvel Studios keeps adding cast members for Eternals as Dunkirk star Barry Keoghan is reportedly in talks to join the upcoming film.

Per Collider, Barry Keoghan is in talks to join the star-studded cast of Eternals as principal photography approaches. However, who he may play in the film is being kept under wraps for now. This comes off the heals of the report that Captain Marvel star Gemma Chan is being added to the cast of Eternals as well. Marvel Studios had no comment on Barry Keoghan’s casting. This would be Barry Keoghan first franchise film, but the young actor starred in Christopher Nolan’s 2016 film, Dunkirk. Earlier this summer, Barry Keoghan also had a supporting role in the HBO mini-series Chernobyl.

What do you all make of this news? Would you like to see Barry Keoghan in Marvel Studios’ Eternals? Who do you think the Dunkirk star will play in the film? Let us know what you think in the comments below!

The Rider helmer Chloe Zhao is directing Marvel Studios’  Eternals from a script by Matthew and Ryan Firpo, the writers behind Ruin, which topped the 2017 Black List. Production is expected to begin later this year.

Jack Kirby created the title in 1976. In the comics, the Eternals are a fictional evolutionary offshoot of humanity who possess superpowers and longer lifespans than normal humans. Created by the Celestials over a million years ago, the superpowered beings were the result of genetic experiments that led to the creation of two divergent races: The Eternals and The Deviants.

Often defending Earth from their monstrous counterparts, the Eternals became embroiled in a civil war amongst themselves over whether or not they should conquer the other races. One faction was led by Kronos and the other by his warlike brother named Uranos, with Kronos’ side ultimately winning the conflict while Uranos and his followers were exiled.

Marvel Studios’ Eternals will star Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lauren Ridloff, Brian Tyree Henry, Salma Hayek, Lia McHugh, and Don Lee.

Keep an eye on Heroic Hollywood as more details on this film and other Marvel Studios projects come out.
