Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige is developing a Star Wars movie for Disney and Lucasfilm.
Kevin Feige has found his next big project after producing the biggest film of all time for Marvel Studios. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kevin Feige will produce a new Star Wars film with Kathleen Kennedy. The news comes as a shock as Kevin Fegie has a lot on his hands with the upcoming Phase Four slate from Marvel Studios.
In a statement to THR, Disney Chief Alan Horn had this to say on the partnership between Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige and Star Wars head Kathleen Kennedy:
We are excited about the projects Kathy and the Lucasfilm team are working on, not only in terms of Star Wars but also Indiana Jones and reaching into other parts of the company including Children of Blood and Bone with Emma Watts and Fox. With the close of the Skywalker Saga, Kathy is pursuing a new era in Star Warsstorytelling, and knowing what a die-hard fan Kevin is, it made sense for these two extraordinary producers to work on a Star Warsfilm together.
Kevin Feige also has an idea of who he wants to star in the film as THR sources state:
One knowledgeable source says Feige has told a major actor that there’s a specific role he would like that person to play when and if he makes the movie.
Kathleen Kennedy will remain in charge of the Star Wars universe, but this could be a precursor for the Marvel Studios President taking the reigns.
