Michael Bishop replaces Jordan Elsass as Jonathan Kent in a new image from Superman and Lois season three.

Earlier this year, The CW announced that Jordan Elsass is leaving its DC Comics series Superman and Lois after two seasons, marking the end of his run as Jonathan Kent. Following speculation about the exit, Elsass revealed that he decided to leave the series to focus on his mental health.

Jordan Elsass was replaced by Michael Bishop, an Australian actor who was recently seen in the Disney Channel Original Movie Spin. A newly-surfaced image from Superman and Lois shows Bishop as Jonathan Kent alongside his twin brother Jordan, played by Alex Garfin.

The cast of Superman and Lois also includes Tyler Hoechlin, Elizabeth Tulloch, Alex Garfin, Erik Valdez, Wolé Parks, Adam Rayner, Dylan Walsh, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Tayler Buck and Sofia Hasmik. The series was developed by Greg Berlanti and Todd Helbing, with David Madden, Geoff Johns, Kristi Korzec, Sarah Schechter and Lee Toland Krieger serving as executive producers.

The storyline of season three

According to an official synopsis, Superman and Lois season three “opens weeks after Superman’s blowout defeat of Ally Allston. Clark and Lois are now working at the Smallville Gazette together and enjoying small town life. But the Kents’ romantic bliss only shines a light on how isolating “the secret” can be, as Chrissy struggles to balance a new love interest and her friendship with Lois. However, Lois’ own work-life balance is put to the test when an undercover assignment reveals a deadly foe that promises to change the Kent family forever. Superman would move heaven and earth for his family, but with a villain this merciless, even that might not be enough.”

“Meanwhile, the Kent boys find themselves being pulled in opposite directions as Jordan discovers what a superhero-identity really means and Jonathan searches for purpose beyond the football field,” the synopsis continues. “Amid all this upheaval, John Henry is haunted by his doppelgänger’s past, leading to dangerous consequences for him and Natalie . Lana Lang and Kyle redefine their family post-separation, while Sarah explores what the future holds for her and Jordan now that she knows the truth about his powers. Having learned the hard way that no one else can be trusted to work with Superman, General Samuel Lane reclaims his post at the Department of Defense, only to face his own conflict in working with his grandson, Jordan.”

Superman and Lois season three premieres on March 14, 2023. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the series and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
