Ant-Man and the Wasp star Michael Douglas says the Quantum Realm will be important in the future of the MCU beyond Avengers 4.

The Quantum Realm made its first MCU appearance in the first Ant-Man film and featured more prominently in Ant-Man and the Wasp. During the mid-credits scene for Ant-Man and the Wasp, Scott Lang is tuck in the Quantum Relam during Thanos snap. This and set photos from Avengers 4 has led fans to believe the Quantum Realm will play a big role in the next Avengers film. Douglas confirmed the importance of the Quantum Realm in the MCU’s future during a recent On Air with Ryan Seacrest interview:

“Right. Right. That is absolutely true. I mean, all of them — I mean, the Quantum Realm, that’s the key. That’s the key. The Quantum Realm plays an important part in all the next chapters, I think, of the Marvel films.”

Directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man and the Wasp stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, Michael Peña as Luis, David Dastmalchian as Kurt, Judy Greer as Maggie, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Laurence Fishburne as Dr. Bill Foster, Walton Goggins as Sonny Burch, Hannah John-Kamen as the Ghost, and Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne.

From the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes “Ant Man and the Wasp,” a new chapter featuring heroes with the astonishing ability to shrink. In the aftermath of “Captain America: Civil War,” Scott Lang grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a Super Hero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside the Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from the past.

Ant-Man And The Wasp is now available on Digital and Blu-Ray.
