Composter Michael Giacchino posted an image potentially hinting he will write the score for Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson’s The Batman.
With Robert Pattinson officially on board to star as the Caped Crusader and production reportedly set to begin in early 2020, director Matt Reeves is likely hard at work assembling the crew members who will help him on The Batman. Now, Michael Giacchino has posted a photo on his official Instagram account that has fans suspecting he will join the crew of Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson’s The Batman as the composer of the score.
Taken in Dublin, Ireland, the photo does not include a caption, but it does feature a life-size figure of Batman placed on the ledge of a building. While this is by no means confirmation that Michael Giacchino will write the score for Matt Reeves’ and Robert Pattinson’s The Batman, it would not be an unusual collaboration as the composer has worked with Matt Reeves on all of the director’s feature films since Cloverfield.

Plot details for The Batman are currently under wraps, though the film will center around a younger Bruce Wayne and features a Rogues’ Gallery of villains that reportedly includes Catwoman. The Matt Reeves film will follow Batman during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector and will make use of the Dark Knight’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous DC Films. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new trilogy with Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader.
Matt Reeves’ The Batman is one of the many projects currently being developed by Warner Bros. and DC. These projects include The Flash standalone film, Green Lantern Corps, Black Adam, Cyborg, Supergirl, New Gods, and Nightwing.
The Batman will be released in theaters on June 25, 2021.
