Michael Rooker Mooned ‘Guardians Vol. 2’ Cast

James Gunn hosted a live facebook chat this afternoon where he talked briefly about the progress on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2; particularly how Michael Rooker, who plays Yondu, ruined a touching rehearsal.

“Most of us aren’t really practical jokers, but we did have one day when we were rehearsing a very emotional scene with Mantis (Pom Klementieff) and Drax (Dave Bautista), and they were sitting in there chairs in our rehearsal space,” Gunn said when asked about practical jokes on the set. “We were very emotionally moved; Pom had tears in her eyes, speaking this wonderfully emotional speech, and we look up and through the glass of the doorway… there’s Michael Rooker’s bare, naked ass pressed up against it. So that’s a practical joke on set. There’s another one I can’t tell you about because it’s a spoiler, but I’ll tell you after the movie comes out.”

Rooker is a good friend of Gunn’s, and has appeared in a number of the latter’s films; which is a good thing else a mooning might not have gone over so well. Gunn also had high praise for Bautista, Pom Klementieff, and Karen Gillan for their work on the sequel.

“I think the cast has been fantastic. Every single actor that was in the first movie has gotten exponentially better. They all know their characters more deeply. Dave Bautista is absolutely killing it. Pom, who plays Mantis is killing it. Karen Gillan has had an amazing couple of weeks. She’s just been fantastic. So I think that there’s some really great stuff.”

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 has just over two weeks left of filming and will be released on May 5th, 2017.
