What Michael Rosenbaum Looked Like On The Set Of ‘Guardians 2’

Director James Gunn has revealed what actor Michael Rosenbaum looked like behind the scenes when he was filming Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2.

Guardians Galaxy Vol. 2 Martinex
Michael Rosenbaum made an appearance as Martinex T’Naga in Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2, though his role in the film was rather small. James Gunn has just shared a behind-the-scenes picture of himself, Sylvester Stallone, and Rosenbaum in his motion-capture getup.

Martinex made a few appearances throughout the movie – once alongside Stallone’s Stakar on the ice planet, once at the very end of the movie with the Ravager fleet, and once in the post-credits scene where Stakar’s old team forms up again for the first time in years. Martinex himself is a character that’s only made possible through digital effects, so obviously this meant that Rosenbaum would have to rock the motion-capture look. Gunn revealed a behind-the-scenes photo showing what Rosenbaum looked like below:

Considering that the character only has a limited amount of screen time in the film, the attention to detail committed to making his appearance as authentic to the comic as possible is commendable – and hopefully, we’ll get to see more of him and the rest of Stakar’s motley crew later on into the MCU.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 is playing in theaters right now. The film stars Chris Pratt as Peter Quill (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax, Vin Diesel as Groot, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Sean Gunn as Kraglin, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Elizabeth Debicki as Ayesha, and Kurt Russell as Ego. Many of these same characters are set to appear in Avengers: Infinity War, its sequel, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3.
