Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown has landed her first major movie role. THR reports the 12-year old actress will star in Godzilla: King of Monsters, the third film in Legendary Pictures’ cinematic universe of monsters after Kong: Skull Island.
Brown broke onto the scene last summer becoming an instant superstar when she captivated the hearts and minds of audiences as the enigmatic Eleven in Netflix’s Stranger Things. Brown delivered an extraordinary performance that stole the show. She packs a powerful and emotional punch into every word she speaks and is able to express more emotion through her eyes than even most adult actors are capable of.
Since her debut in Stranger Things, Brown has signed with William Morris Endeavor for representation and received both SAG and Golden Globe nominations for her outstanding performance. In addition to returning for the second season of Stranger Things, she starred in the music video for “Find Me” by Sigma Ft. Birdy. The actress was also announced as the new face of Calvin Klein earlier this week.
The sequel to Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla will be helmed by Krampus director Michael Dougherty. The script has been co-written by Dougherty and his Krampus partner Zach Shield. Alex Garcia will oversee development for Legendary.
Godzilla: King of Monsters is slated for release on March 22, 2019.
