Paramount Pictures has announced that Alec Baldwin and Sean Harris will be returning for the upcoming sixth installment in the Mission: Impossible franchise.
Henry Cavill was also officially announced to be starring in the film alongside Tom Cruise. The actor had previously accepted a role in the film on Instagram about two weeks ago.
In addition, the new recruits such as Rebecca Ferguson and Simon Pegg are set to return, however, there was no mention of Jeremy Renner. The sequel has also added The Crown actress Vanessa Kirby into the mix in a role that is said to be on the same level as Ferguson’s character who co-led Rogue Nation with Cruise.
Production on M:I 6 will begin April 10, lasting for about 100 days and will indeed shoot in Paris as well as London, India and New Zealand. The film be shot with IMAX 3D cameras.
Plot details are still under wraps but Mission: Impossible 6 will break franchise tradition as Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation director Christopher McQuarrie returns to the directing chair to helm the sixth installment. Mcquarrie previously revealed that the opening scene of the new film won’t kickstart the film with a death-defying stunt like they normally do, instead, the film will open focusing on Cruise’s character of Ethan Hunt, however, M: I 6 will still include yet another epic stunt as the action centerpiece of the film that Tom Cruise has been training for the last year for.
Mission: Impossible – 6 is currently slated to hit theaters on July 27, 2018.
