The upcoming Aquaman film is one of my most anticipated films in recent memory. As someone who was never too fond on the character, I find it quite strange to say that. An Aquaman movie has been a running-gag in Hollywood, going so far to appear as an integral part to Vincent Chase’s movie career on the HBO comedy, Entourage. Well, thanks to Jason Momoa and James Wan, it looks like Aquaman will no longer be the butt of every comic book joke.
The upcoming blockbuster is set to hit theatres everywhere on December 21, 2018, but filming is scheduled to begin within the coming weeks in my native land of Australia. The film features an extremely talented cast, including, Nicole Kidman, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Dolph Lundgren, and of course, Jason Momoa and Temuera Morrison.
Morrison and Momoa are set to play father and son in the film, and thanks to Momoa’s Instagram account, we have a lovely picture of the two bonding at the gym. Of course, Momoa is reprising his role as Aquaman from Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, and this November’s Justice League. The actor left a very touching message on his photo, which you can read below:
“Meeting one of my idols. I’m so honoured and proud to be working with Temuera Morrison A true inspiration for me growing up trying to become an actor.”

Aren’t they sweet? What do you guys think? Are you excited for Wan’s Aquaman film? With all the (rumoured) behind-the-scenes drama at Warner Bros. it seems like this DC Comics-adaptation has it all together.
Aquaman is set to hit theatres everywhere on December 21, 2018. Until then, you can check out Momoa’s performance as the King of Atlantis in this November’s Justice League.
