Mortal Kombat 11 added Spawn as a DLC fighter with a second skin that seems to be inspired by Deadpool.

On March 17, Mortal Kombat 11 officially added Spawn as a DLC fighter and while the release was accompanied by server issues, many have still been able to play as the character. In fact, Spawn was added with a skin that players have noted resembles Marvel’s Deadpool.

Officially, NetherRealm Studios has not confirmed whether or not the skin was inspired by Deadpool. However, even the Merc with Mouth’s creator, Rob Liefeld, was unable to miss the similarities between Spawn’s second skin and the Regenerating Degenerate.

In the film side, Ryan Reynolds has confirmed that he is working on a Deadpool sequel with Marvel Studios. However, there has been no official word on where Ryan Reynolds’ third Deadpool film might fit into Marvel Studios’ Phase 4 or 5 line-ups. In the meantime, fans can re-watch Ryan Reynolds’ most recent appearance as the Merc with a Mouth in Deadpool 2.

After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.

Directed by David Leitch from a script written by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick & Ryan Reynolds, Deadpool 2 stars Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin, Morena Baccarin, Julian Dennison, Zazie Beetz, T.J. Miller, Brianna Hildebrand, and Jack Kesy.

Deadpool 2 is now available on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital HD.
