Jerad S.Marantz has shared a concept art piece of Mileena from a Mortal Kombat pitch.

Video game movies continue to have a bad reputation, but in recent years it has been better with Sonic the Hedgehog and Pokemon: Detective Pikachu. The next beloved video game franchise that is getting the live-action treatment is Mortal Kombat, although this will be the video game’s second movie.

The upcoming reboot is being produced by Aquaman‘s James Wan and stars Ludi Lin as Liu Kang. Mileena will also be making an appearance in the reboot and will be played by Sisi Stringer. Jerad S.Marantz shared some concept art of Mileena from a Mortal Kombat film pitch that was considered before the current project got off the ground. You can check out the Mileena concept art below.

The Mortal Kombat franchise launched with the first video game in 1992 and has since expanded to include several sequels. Plot details for the new Mortal Kombat film are currently unknown, though the video games center on a roster of characters from different realm who fight for supremacy.

The video game was first adapted into a feature film directed by Paul W. S. Anderson. The film earned a worldwide total of $122 million and is widely regarded as one of the better adaptations of a video game.

Directed by Simon McQuoid from a script written by Greg Russo, the upcoming film stars Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Mehcad Brooks as Jax,  Tadanobu Asano as Raiden, Sisi Stringer as Mileena, Joe Taslim as Sub-Zero, and Lewis Tan in an undisclosed role.
