Marvel Studios have unveiled a new poster for the upcoming Disney Plus series, Ms. Marvel, marking 50 days until the series premieres on the streaming service.
Ms. Marvel will introduce Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, a Muslim high school student in New Jersey who is transformed into the MCU’s newest hero. While Marvel previously introduced Tom Holland’s Peter Parker as a great admirer of Tony Stark and the Avengers, Kamala is more of an outright fangirl, serving as a reflection of real-life fan culture around the MCU. She is even shown in Captain Marvel cosplay in the series, a look that is featured on the new poster with a small image of Kamala dressed as Carol Danvers just above the series logo.
The new poster was unveiled on Marvel Studios’ Twitter account, alongside the caption “In 50 days, Kamala Khan’s journey begins.” The vibrant design features Kamala suited up as Ms. Marvel, alongside much of the series’ supporting cast. The colorful collection of hand-drawn images seen in the background for the poster seem to nod to the comic-book-inspired illustrations featured in the series, as teased in the official trailer. Check out the new poster below:
Following the Disney Plus series, Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel is due to appear on the big screen alongside Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel and Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau in next year’s The Marvels.
Here is the synopsis for Ms. Marvel:
Marvel Studios’ “Ms. Marvel” is a new, original series that introduces Kamala Khan, a Muslim American teenager growing up in Jersey City. An avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, Kamala is a Super Hero mega fan with an oversized imagination—particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel. Yet Kamala feels like she doesn’t fit in at school and sometimes even at home—that is, until she gets super powers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Life gets better with super powers, right?
Ms. Marvel stars Iman Vellani, Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Matt Lintz, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Fawad Khan, and Mehwish Hayat.
