Tenoch Huerta denies accusations of sexual assault by Maria Elena Rios.

Namor Tenich Huerta Black Panther Wakanda Forever

Mexican actor Tenoch Huerta, who broke out as the MCU’s Namor in last year’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, has been accused of sexual assault, according to Spanish language media reports. He has since denied these reports, calling them entirely unsubstantiated

Late Saturday evening, a saxophonist named Maria Elena Rios released allegations against the Namor actor in a series of Tweets, alleging him to be a sexual predator. Tenoch Huerta has since come out to refute these claims with the release of a statement on Monday morning, calling the accusations “false and completely unsubstantiated” before detailing his side of the story:

“Throughout it was a loving, warm and mutually supportive relationship. After it ended, however, Elena began to misrepresent our interactions both privately and in front of groups of mutual friends,” Heurta said in a statement. “As a result, a few months ago, I engaged a legal team to commence the appropriate actions to protect my reputation and refute these irresponsible and false accusations that can cause great prejudice and damage.”

Inititally, Maria Elena Rios accused Poder Prieto of publishing things they were not authorized to do, further alleging that the company did not pay her, and while doing so, she alleged Huerta of sexual assault.

The translated tweet reads: “I made it very clear to them when I left their sect that they protect the violent and sexual PREDATOR of @TenochHuerta that they did not publish anything about me. They still went to look for me at a concert of hypocrites to avoid scandals for their @MarvelLATAM movie.”

Rios added: “It is very difficult to talk about the emotional abuse and abuse of power of a sexual predator who is loved in the world for playing a character in a movie like @TenochHuerta Charming in appearance, the great hallmark of a narcissist + a good helping of victimization.”
