A new toy shows Natalie Portman suited up as Mighty Thor for Marvel’s upcoming Love and Thunder.
The hierarchy of power in Asgard is changing. Chris Hemsworth’s upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder will feature several changes to the long-running franchise. For starters, Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie will now rule Asgard at the behest of Thor, who offered her the position in the closing moments of Avengers: Endgame.
Another change coming to the franchise is Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster taking on the mantle of Mighty Thor. The iconic, fan-favorite character has endured in comic book pages for years and will now finally make her live-action debut in Thor: Love and Thunder. Despite the film set to release in cinemas this summer, details have been slim from Marvel’s camp. We haven’t even received a first look at the film, let alone a still to tease Jane Foster’s new superhero.
Luckily, Marvel has released the first look at some of the film’s upcoming toys, including a solid look at Natalie Portman’s Mighty Thor. There’s also a brand new look at Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, who can be seen rocking like a bold blue suit. Other toys include an action of Korg, Thor, and Mighty Thor’s weapons, and Lego sets from key moments in the upcoming film.
Directed by Taika Waititi from a script he co-wrote with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson, Christian Bale, Jaimie Alexander, Chris Pratt, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, and Jeff Goldblum. Matt Damon, Sam Neill, Luke Hemsworth, Melissa McCarthy, Ben Falcone, and Russell Crowe are also on board.
