Longtime Marvel Studios executive and producer Nate Moore is set to depart the studio in early 2025, transitioning to producing projects outside the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Moore has been a key player at Marvel since 2010, influencing some of the studio’s most successful projects.

“Nate is a fantastic executive and colleague as well as a wonderful friend to all of us here at Marvel Studios,” said Marvel’s Kevin Feige and Louis D’Esposito. “He has been a core member of our team since 2010, and his influence will continue to reverberate in our storytelling. Although we’ll miss him a great deal, we look forward to watching what he does next while also having the good fortune of working with him in a new way on our next Black Panther movie.”

Moore will remain at Marvel Studios until mid-March, overseeing the release of Captain America: Brave New World, which is currently on track to hit theaters in February 2025. Moore will also stay involved with Marvel to produce the newly announced Black Panther 3, which continues the story of Wakanda.

Reflecting on his time at Marvel, Moore expressed his gratitude and excitement for the future. “Nearly everything I know about producing I’ve learned from my time at Marvel Studios,” Moore said. “I feel lucky to have worked with a group of people who love filmmaking and storytelling as much as my Marvel colleagues and the cast and crew of our films. But I couldn’t be more excited to apply my experience and passion for film towards theatrical movies in all genres, including returning to the world of Wakanda for Black Panther 3.”

Nate Moore’s Marvel projects and the future of Wakanda in the MCU

Over the years, Moore has left an indelible mark on Marvel Studios, producing films like 2018’s Black Panther, Eternals, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and Marvel’s Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. In addition to his producing credits, Moore played a key role in developing the scripts for Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Captain America: Civil War.

Black Panther 3 has been generating buzz ever since Denzel Washington revealed in an interview that director Ryan Coogler is writing a role specifically for him in the sequel. While Marvel has yet to confirm any casting details, this announcement confirms that the project is moving forward.

In addition to Black Panther 3, Marvel Studios is working on Eyes of Wakanda, an animated Disney+ series that will explore the rich lore and culture of Wakanda. The project is expected to premiere in August 2025 on the streaming service.
