Batman Unlimited: Mech vs Mutants might be one of the strangest animated projects WB has ever green-lit in terms of the Dark Knight. Mech vs Mutants is a mash-up featuring both Batman and Kaiju (a Japanese monster film genre), where Bruce Wayne and his ally Green Arrow suit up in giant robot armor to take down oversized versions of Batman’s classic rogues gallery. Sound a little outlandish? Well, that’s because it is.
In a new clip released by WB home entertainment, Penguin and Mr. Freeze begin the oversized villainous fun by systematically breaking out four of Bruce’s (physically) largest foes: Bane, Chemo, Killer Croc, and Clayface. Check out the clip below:
Batman Unlimited is a new animated series devoted to the Caped Crusader, focusing on individual stories that put the Dark Knight in outrageous situations. The series will still continue to utilize classic heroes and villains, however. The heroes will include Roger Craig Smith as Batman, Will Friedle as Nightwing, Chris Diamantopoulos as Green Arrow, Lucien Dodge as Robin, and Charlie Schlatter as The Flash. The featured villains include Oded Fehr as Mr. Freeze, Dana Snyder as The Penguin, Carlos Alazraqui as Bane, John DiMaggio as Killer Croc, Dave B Mitchell as Clayface and Troy Baker reprising his role as The Joker. Phil LaMarr also joins the cast as Dr. Langstrom, better known as Man-Bat.
