New Line Releases First Trailer For ‘Annabelle 2’

The first Annabelle film grossed over $250 at the Worldwide box office compared to its $6.5 mil budget, so it is a no-brainer that New Line would be on board for a sequel to the original hit horror film. Annabelle 2 is being penned by the same screenwriter from the first film, Gary Dauberman, but according to the press release along with the trailer David F. Sandberg has taken over the director’s seat from the first film’s director, John Leonetti, as it appears he will not be returning to the franchise.

Check out the first trailer for the movie right here:

Annabelle 2, directed by David F. Sandberg (Lights Out) and produced by Peter Safran and James Wan (The Conjuring movies), stars Stephanie Sigman (Spectre), Talitha Bateman (The 5th Wave), Lulu Wilson (upcoming Ouija 2, Deliver Us From Evil), Philippa Anne Coulthard (After the Dark), Grace Fulton (Badland), Lou Lou Safran (The Choice), Samara Lee (Foxcatcher, The Last Witch Hunter), Tayler Buck, with Anthony LaPaglia (TV’s Without a Trace) and Miranda Otto (Showtime’s Homeland, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy). Sandberg directs from a screenplay by Gary Dauberman, who also wrote Annabelle.

In Annabelle 2, several years after the tragic death of their little girl, a dollmaker and his wife welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home, soon becoming the target of the dollmaker’s possessed creation, Annabelle.

Jack of some trades, master of some others. That saying never really made a lot of sense to me.

    Can’t wait for this.

My only issue with this and the first is it strays so far from the actual Annabelle story. It’s such a shame

      • SAMURAI36

Meh, that doesn’t bother me so much. The original part of the Annabelle story took place in the first Conjuring film. If we go by that, then the first Annabelle film is a deviation as well.

Yeah that’s my point, both this and the first deviate so much. Plus my main gripe is going with the typical “Hollywood porcelain scary doll” haha.
It’s a guilty pleasure, I’ll still obvious watch it haha
