New Photo Of Rita Repulsa from ‘Power Rangers’ Revealed

Power Rangers Movie

Yesterday, Lionsgate ran a marketing campaign for the upcoming Power Rangers movie by having one of the villains, Rita Repulsa, takeover the official Power Rangers twitter for the day. The tweets began after the account released a new photo of Rita Repulsa that you can see below:

Unfortunately, this photo does not reveal anything that we do not know about the upcoming movie, but it is a great look at Elizabeth Banks playing the legendary (to ’90s kids) villain. The costumes in this film have gotten a bit of backlash, but personally I don’t know how else you would do a live-action Power Rangers film without the same deviation given to comic book adaptations.

Here is the official synopsis for the Lionsgate movie:

Saban’s Power Rangers follows five ordinary teens who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discoverer they are the only ones who save the planet. But to do so, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and before it’s too late, band together as the Power Rangers.

Directed by Dean Israelite, the film stars Dacre Montgomery, Naomi Scott, RJ Cyler, Becky G, Ludi Lin, Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Banks and Bill Hader.

Power Rangers will be released in theaters on March 24, 2017.
