Nicholas Cage Liked Justice League; Doesn’t Think He Can Play Superman

Variety sat down with Nicholas Cage and talked Justice League and his unmade Superman movie. Hit the jump to find out more.

Zack Snyder Justice League

Nicholas Cage was once set to play Superman in Tim Burton’s Superman Lives. While that film was canceled during production, Superman would come back to the big screen a few years later with Superman Returns and then be rebooted once more with Man of Steel and go on to have serveral appearances including 2017’s Justice League. Cage was once very excited to play Superman as its his favorite character(he even has a son named Kal-El), but now he’s singing a bit of a different tune.

Variety got a chance to sit with Cage at Sundance and asked him if he still sees himself playing Superman. Cage’s reply was a very simple “No, not at all”. They also asked Cage if he saw the most recent Superman flick, Justice League and Cage had this to say:

I did. I thought it was fun. That’s all I’m going to say.

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League, which featured Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Cyborg, and Aquaman join forces, will be hitting Digital Download on February 13th, 2018 and Blu Ray, 4K Blu Ray and Blu Ray Combo Pack on March 13th, 2018.
