Obi-Wan Kenobi actor O’Shea Jackson Jr calls the upcoming Star Wars Disney Plus series the best job ever.
The road to the upcoming Disney Plus Obi-Wan Kenobi Star Wars series has been a long one. Originally the series was rumored to be a solo film featuring the Jedi master. Following the underperformance of Solo: A Star Wars Story, many of the ideas for stand-alone Star Wars films were scrapped and/or converted into Disney Plus projects. The Obi-Wan Kenobi series was one such project.
Earlier this year, the cast for the Obi-Wan Kenobi Star Wars series was revealed, which included O’Shea Jackson Jr. Perhaps best known for playing his father in Straight Out of Compton, Jackson has quickly built his own resume with supporting roles in films like Godzilla: King of the Monsters and Just Mercy. Now the actor is adding a Star Wars series to his resume and he could not be any more excited.
In a recent interview with PopCulture.com, O’Shea Jackson Jr talked a bit about the upcoming series. He called it “the best job I ever had in my life.” He then called working on Star Wars an honor and couldn’t wait for fans to see it:
“It was such an honor to work for Star Wars. I’m such a nerd. If anybody who really knows me knows I’m a nerd to the core. That was the best job I ever had in my life. I just want to go back. I hope there’s reshoots. I can’t wait for people to see it. I can’t wait to see a trailer. I’m over here drooling like everybody else.”
The Obi-Wan Kenobi series has been described as a special event series for Disney Plus, and details on the upcoming Star Wars series are being hidden away but we do know the series will feature a rematch between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader ten years after the events of Revenge of the Sith and before their final confrontation in A New Hope.
Directed by Deborah Chow from Joby Harold’s scripts, Obi-Wan Kenobi stars Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is expected to hit Disney Plus in 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the upcoming Star Wars series, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
