Some essential details about Obi-Wan Kenobi are floating around months before the show arrives on Disney Plus.

Several outlets have to been revealing new details about the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series as Star Wars fans await the first trailer after the release of the poster. We’ve known that Obi-Wan Kenobi will leave Tatooine in the series, and now Making Star Wars and Star Wars News Net have backed up Cinelinx‘s original report that it will be to save a 10-year old Princess Leia, who will be played by Vivien Lyra Blair. Jimmy Smits will also reportedly play a role in the series, returning as Bail Organa.

Making Star Wars goes on to report that Bail Organa asks for Obi-Wan Kenobi to help save a young Leia, who Inquisitors have captured to lure a Jedi. Moses Ingram will be playing one of the Inquisitors named Reva. The site also revealed that Kumail Nanjianai’s character would lead Kenobi to Leia’s whereabouts. Kenobi’s rescue of Princess Leia won’t cover the entire series but will kick things off.

Lucasfilm describes the Star Wars story as a special event series for Disney Plus, and there are not many details on the upcoming Star Wars series at this time. However, we know the series will feature a rematch between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader ten years after Revenge of the Sith and before their final confrontation in A New Hope.

Directed by Deborah Chow from Joby Harold’s scripts, the series stars Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie. The series will also see the return of legendary Star Wars composer John Williams, who scored a theme.

Obi-Wan Kenobi will hit Disney Plus on May 25, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding the upcoming series, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
