Oscar Isaac recently talked about his history with Moon Knight while calling it a “limited series.”
Marvel Studios has put out several shows on Disney Plus, and so far, we only know of one live-action series that will be getting a second season: Loki. Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight is up next for the steamer, and it looks like it will focus on the character’s origins in a similar way Captain Marvel did.
During a recent conversation with Morbius star Jared Leto for Variety, Oscar Isaac confessed he never heard of Moon Knight before taking on the role, despite collecting comics when he was younger. The actor also went on to describe Moon Knight as a limited series and explained why that was beneficial:
“I’d never heard of “Moon Knight” before, and I collected comics when I was younger. I’d heard of “Morbius,” but I’d never heard of “Moon Knight.” I don’t know how the process was for you because it’s a feature film, we’re a limited series. There was a lot of room to try stuff because there wasn’t the pressure that we got to make sure we make however many hundreds of millions of dollars on the opening weekend. So we could make it very point-of-view. We could make very weird decisions. At the moment, at least — and I don’t imagine it’s going to go backwards — it feels like that’s where more of the risk is being taken because it can financially.”
Suppose Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight is only getting one season on Disney Plus. In that case, the character will probably play a significant role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe moving forward with future appearances in other shows and movies.
Here is the synopsis for Oscar Isaac’s new Marvel series:
A new globetrotting action-adventure series featuring a complex vigilante who suffers from dissociative identity disorder. The multiple identities who live inside him find themselves thrust into a deadly war of the gods against the backdrop of modern and ancient Egypt.
Written by Jeremy Slater, the series stars Oscar Isaac and Ethan Hawke. Mohamed Diab, Justin Benson, and Aaron Moorhead directed episodes of the series with Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige serving as an Executive Producer.
Moon Knight will hit Disney Plus on March 30, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding the upcoming Oscar Isaac series, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
