The first details about the Joker sequel
Joker followed Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck as he transformed into the Clown Prince of Crime and Folie á Deux now looks set to show Harleen Quinzel following him into madness, with Lady Gaga playing the iconic DC Comics character. Phoenix earned an Oscar for his work as The Joker.
After the first film ended with Arthur Fleck in Arkham State Hospital, it’s likely that – as in previous iterations – Harleen Quinzel will start out as the Joker’s psychiatrist. Plot details are being kept under wraps but the a significant chunk of the sequel is expected to take place in Arkham.
Todd Phillips, who helmed the first Joker movie, is returning to the director’s chair for Folie à Deux, working from a script he co-wrote alongside Scott Silver. Production is currently underway for an October 2024 release.
The cast of Folie à Deux also features Brendan Gleeson, Zazie Beetz, Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland and Harry Lawtey.
The first Joker movie is currently available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, DVD and digital formats. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the sequel and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
